Great food and the atmosphere are homely. Nice place to sit and break bread with family and friends.

The fired pork chop is the best in town!!! Ms. Linda is the sweetest person ever!!!!

My favorite restaurant in my town! The people know you by name and the food is cooked fresh to order! They are always so nice and friendly to everyone. The setting is old school and I love it!

This is kind of an unusual review for me. I was in Sylacauga and I was hungry. I know, imagine that. I wanted bbq. I had already been to the other two popular bbq joints in town, I wanted to try Booker's. I walked in and friendly folks greeted me. But they had no bbq. I was very disappointed. That's why this is not a 5 star review. I had the hamburger instead. It was a very good hamburger. If I could suggest anything about the hamburger, it lacked sear or grill marks. That would have made it an excellent hamburger. Like I said, the food was very good. The restaurant had a really good vibe about it. I will definitely go back.

We were looking for a good lunch on our route home and came across this gem. The food was amazing and the owner, Mama Linda, is the kindest soul. The food is definitely cooked with love.

Food is just like mama used to make --literally. Absolutely delicious meat and three style southern cooking. I gave 4 stars because their hours have become unpredictable and the last 3 times I've been they have been out of items that were on their special. One of those times we actually had to leave because they were out of food. I love this establishment and hope they can stay in business. They are fantastic for the community as they serve free meals to those who need it or simply don't have a family to eat with on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Wonderful family run business. Service is great and the ambiance is relaxed and casual.

I would drive 1000 miles just to get to my hometown to eat their food. Service is amazing and food is the best you'll ever put in your mouth. Never had anything that wasn't the very best. Love this place!

My aunt recommended this place. We were just visiting from the west coast but she lives in Sylacauga and said that they have good food. She was not kidding. This had to have been some of the best food I've ever had. Even the sweet tea was absolutely sweetened to a perfect amount. I ordered the smothered pork chop, mac n cheese, cabbage, and took some pieces of fried okra from my son because he doesn't really eat it. I also ordered the bread pudding (my favorite dessert) The food was seasoned just right making each bite just as good as the next. They had some jalapeños into the Mac and cheese and peppers into the cabbage that make it taste so good. I'll be trying to make it at home this way. The pork chop was well done and soft. I have never tasted bread pudding so good. I normally have to get mine from a local buffet and it does not even compare to this one. The service was amazing. The people who work and own the restaurant are very sweet. We can be a handful sometimes because I have three younger children who eat with me. They were very patient and we didn't even have to ask for refills on the tea they kept it coming. Such a pleasure to eat here. I only wish they were on the west coast. I HIGHLY recommend stopping in here if you're in the area.

I have heard about this gem for a while but never had a chance to get to the Country Club in Sylacauga. So I was ecstatic that they moved to a bigger spot downtown. I decided to treat my golden girls lol my mom and my grandma! The family-oriented atmosphere was amazing! The aesthetics was appealing, but could use more home wall decor to go with the down home atmosphere. I loved loved the regular kitchen tables with table clothes, I thought was genius because we are seriously loosing our family dinner time tradition. (Call me old fashioned). Everything is open and spacious. Something I did notice. The ramping going into the building was a bit steep as I had to tilt my Gramps a bit more than her comfort level to get in the door. Other than that, everything else was very assessable. The welcoming atmosphere when you come in was impeccable! Linda Booker, the owner has the most welcoming attitude, you would not know she is the boss! But that is what I loved! Because customer service is EVERYTHING, not just the food. They were extremely busy and it was a wait. But trust its definitely worth it! The young waitress (forgot her name) and Mrs. Booker was running it though. I commend! Now on to the delicious down home Southern cuisine! I had the AYCE fish. It came with 2 sides. Bless the waitress heart, we were indecisive on our sides, but she continued to be cordial throughout! Kudos! Now I'm a sucker for some good home cooked butter beans and those were by far the best I've had in a while!! The okra was perfectly cooked, not too hard but not too slimy (if you eat okra, you know what I mean). I was not too fond of the Mac and cheese, I like mine creamy and cheesy. The fish was cooked to perfection though! Brown with a slight crisp and it was cooked to order, so make sure you let them know you are ready for a refill in he midst of your piece you eating if you going for seconds. This was a very pleasant food experience and I will definitely recommend anyone to try! Especially if you looking for what you don't have in your home town and you traveling through. It's roughly 3 miles off of 280 and conveniently located close if you are traveling hwy 21. Once you get more waiters/waitresses and minimize the wait, this is my pick every time I'm in town! Mrs. Booker thank you for your good ol' Southern Hospitality! It was much needed that day!
